National Public Lands Day at Humbug Marsh

On September 27, 2008, over 50 volunteers arrived at the Humbug Marsh Unit to groom trails, pick up trash, and remove invasive plants. It is estimated that 1,600 locations nationwide hosted a total of 120,000 volunteers. This was the 15th annual National Public Lands Day and the first hosted by the Detroit River International Wildlife Refuge.
