MODIS Land Surface Temperature/Emissivity Daily 5km QA Science Data Sets
The QA information below is excerpted from the MODIS Land Surface
Temperature/Emissivity File Specifications available on-line at ftp://modular.nascom.nasa.gov/pub/LatestFilespecs/
All information can be assumed applicable to both Terra (MOD11) and Aqua (MYD11)
LST/E products.
The
QC SDSs in the data product provide information on algorithm results for each
pixel. The QC SDSs are encoded as 16-bit unsigned integers. The purpose of the
QC SDS is to give the user information on algorithm results for each pixel that
can be viewed in a spatial context. The QC information tells if algorithm
results were nominal, abnormal, or if other defined conditions were encountered
for a pixel. The QC information should be used to help determine the usefulness
of the LST data for a user's needs.
Three
QC SDSs are included for 5km LST/E, QC_day, QC_Night, and QC_Emis.
QC_Day
and QC_Night
