Alexandrium tamarense

Objectives

• To characterize the temporal and spatial distribution of the "source" population of toxic Alexandrium cells in the western Gulf of Maine.
• To characterize the physical transport mechanisms that influence the distribution and fate of toxic Alexandrium cells in the western Gulf of Maine.
• To elucidate the manner in which physical dynamics, growth, and the nutrient environment influence toxic Alexandrium cells in the western Gulf of Maine.
