Washington, D.C. 20530 December 12, 2003 MEMORANDUM FOR BUREAU HUMAN RESOURCES OFFICERS Director, Human Resources SUBJECT: Student Loan Change Public Law 108-123, the Federal Employee Student Loan Assistance Act, increased the annual and aggregate limits on student loan repayments by Federal agencies. The annual amount was increased from $6,000 to $10,000 and the aggregate limit was raised from $40,000 to $60,000. The Department’s Human Resources Order, DOJ 1200.1, Chapter 2-12, Student Loan Repayment, and the Student Loan Repayment Fact Sheet will be updated to reflect this change.
