TomchekDirector, Human Resources Justice Management Division SUBJECT: SES Forum Series: "Primal Leadership: Realizing the Power of Emotional Intelligence" This memorandum announces the Senior Executive Service Forum Series, "Primal Leadership: Realizing the Power of Emotional Intelligence" event to be held on March 19, 2003 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center. Please share this memorandum with Senior Executive Service (SES) members in your organization. The presenter, Dr. Annie McKee is Co-Chair of the Teleos Leadership Institute, where her work takes her from leadership and strategic planning initiatives at Fortune 100 firms to leadership/community development projects for developing countries all over the world. She also serves on the faculty of the University of Pennsylvania, teaches at the Wharton School’s Aresty Institute of Executive Education, and is former Director of Management Development Services for the Hay Group. In this program, presenting evidence from research in hundreds of companies, Dr. McKee will show how the best leaders are those who lead with emotional intelligence. Senior Executives Service members can attend the program by registering by March 7, 2003. However, seating is limited and registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis. All confirmed participants will be notified when they are on the roster. There is no cost to attend this event. This program is the fourth in a series of SES Forum Series programs that the Department of Justice is providing to DOJ SES members during FY 2003. The SES Forum Series is a consortium of several Federal agencies including the Department of Justice. DOJ participates in the series as part of our continuing effort to provide premium developmental opportunities to executives and to maintain the high quality of departmental leadership.
