SUBJECT: Draft 2001 General Schedule Salary Tables
Attached for your information is an Office of Personnel Management (OPM) memorandum that transmits draft 2001 General Schedule (GS) salary tables and related information.
The draft salary tables are based on the President's alternative plan for locality pay adjustments, and will become official in the absence of additional legislation. They provide for a 2.7 percent adjustment in basic GS rates, and an average 1 percent adjustment in locality pay percentages. The total adjustment in the Washington, DC area will be 3.81 percent.
Although most of the 2001 special salary rate tables have not yet been issued, the attachments include draft salary tables for the Information Technology special salary rates recently authorized by OPM. 2001 rates for the Executive Schedule, Senior Executive Service, and Senior Level pay systems will be issued at a later date.
