MEMORANDUM FOR OFFICES, BOARDS, AND DIVISIONS’ TRAINING REPRESENTATIVES

SUBJECT:      FY 2004 Department of the Interior Speaker Series

This memorandum and attached information fact sheet announce the six seminars in the Career, Balance and Diversity (CBD) Forum Series for Fiscal Year 2004. The Department of Justice, in partnership with a consortium of Federal agencies led by the Department of the Interior, is sponsoring this series. Please distribute the memo and attached information to your employees.

The first seminar, entitled "Grown-Up Marriage," will be held on February 10, 2004, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The seminar will be held at the American Institute of Architects (AIA), located at 1735 New York Avenue, NW. (Farragut West is the closest Metro).

The featured speaker is Judith Viorst. Ms. Viorst blends interviews with couples and therapist, literature and movies, and personal experience to provide insight into what it takes to stay married. "In a grown-up marriage, the laughter exceeds the regret" and Ms. Viorst is sure to make you laugh with her anecdotes and inspirational advice.

There is no cost for attending the seminars. The deadline for registration is two weeks prior to each scheduled seminar. All participants, with supervisory approval, can register by sending an e-mail to Leadership.Development@usdoj.gov Each seminar will be filled on a first-registered, first-attend basis, with the first 25 registrants.
