This provides the attached memorandum from the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) concerning excused absence, work scheduling, and leave policies for Monday, April 17, in Washington, DC. At the recommendation of Federal and local law enforcement officials, OPM adjusted the operating status for Federal employees in Washington, DC, on Monday, April 17, 2000, to accommodate the protests of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund meetings.
In accordance with the OPM determination, the following operating decisions were announced:
In implementing this information for Department employees, components should follow the guidance issued by OPM. In particular, the following considerations apply:
