USADF periodically offers volunteer internships for students.
USADF is currently seeking interns.
Internship Application Prerequisities
USADF's internships are generally available only to enrolled students.
In general, students must:
1. Be enrolled or accepted for enrollment (at least half-time) in a relevant college degree program (diploma, certificate, etc.) either at the graduate or undergraduate level at the time the internship would be served;
2. Have no felony convictions;
3. If a male born after December 31, 1959, be registered with the Selective Service System;
4. Be a U.S. citizen;
5. Meet the division requirements for the internship(s) for which application is made (e.g., the division may require an intern with a major concentration in a subject matter, certain application skills, foreign language skills, etc.).
Internships typically last 10 to 12 weeks. Usually, the student’s scheduling needs can be accommodated. Starting and end dates are somewhat flexible, but start and end dates must be established prior to the candidate’s start date. Internships may be performed for academic credit.
Volunteer interns may qualify for a public transportation subsidy not to exceed $105 per month.
Presidential Management Fellows in the Federal government are required to serve a rotation outside of their organization during their fellowship. On occasion, USADF will have opportunities for nonreimbursable details that meet this requirement. Current Fellows with an interest in a USADF rotation (or their agency representative) should contact USADF's Director of Human Resources by calling 202.673.3916.
USADF is an equal opportunity employer. USADF provides reasonable accommodations to applicants with disabilities where appropriate. If you need a reasonable accommodation for any part of the application and hiring process, please notify the agency as directed on the internship announcement. The decision on granting reasonable accommodation will be on a case-by-case basis.
