Available Services

The CRC encourages use of its extensive collection by all interested parties at its well-maintained facility in Building 810, on the Denver Federal Center. In order to facilitate the use of the collection, a well-lit and spacious core examination room is available to daily users of the core collection. Binocular microscopes, photographic equipment, and testing chemicals are available in the core examination room. A separate cuttings examination room equipped with microscopes and other examination equipment is also available to users of the large cuttings collection. A conference room, thin section examination room, and lecture room are also available to the CRC visitors.

The core collection is used extensively by workers from Federal and State agencies, industry, and educational institutions. Up to 2,000 scientists per year from around the world access the collection, although the largest portion of users is from the U.S. Over the past two decades, the CRC staff has provided this library-like service to over 35,000 people. In addition, the CRC facilities are available to high-school teachers and college students for a variety of educational needs.

The CoreResearch Center is located at the southwest side of Building 810, on the Denver Federal Center. Viewing of cores or cuttings is by appointment only.
