Education

Experience

I came to work for the U.S. Geological Survey's Public Inquiries Office in Anchorage, Alaska, in 1975. There I sold maps and publications and helped answer questions from the public until 1987, when I moved to Tucson, Arizona. In 1988, I joined the Minerals Information Office in Tucson where I gathered and disseminated Mineral Resources Data System (MRDS) records, answered minerals-related questions, and worked with Center for Inter-American Mineral Resource Investigations scientists to gather data from and to install MRDS in Latin American countries.

Current Activities

As part of the Databases and Information Analysis Project for the Western United States and of the Global Mineral Resources Assessment Project, I map using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for internal use and for publication. I also respond to some of the inquiries that come into the office from the public, industry, or other government agencies.
