Relating across OCIO
Mapping to EA - Reference Models
Historical Phases
When initially establishing the DOI Inventory, relating across the OCIO, and mapping to the EA and reference models, this was done in four major phases. This batch approach allowed the DOI over an 18 month period complete an inventory while maintaining policy and controls. For certain key lines of business (LOBs): recreation, financial management, law enforcement, and wildfire management, the data gets validated while working on that LOB’s modernization blueprint. For everything else, the IAWG works through three phases with the system owners, using DEAR reports:
- Phase 1: inventory - Establish and describe system inventory, and relate to CPIC
- Phase 2: system modeling--linking systems to SRM, TRM, and deployments; relate C&A Boundaries enclaves and system interfaces
- Phase 3: business modeling--linking systems to BRM and PRM
- Phase 4: data modeling--linking systems to DRM Information Classes and Entities
After each phase, DEAR will merge all Bureau updates and then released back to their BEAR (Bureau Enterprise Architecture Repository.
