July 22, 2008 memo from the Counsel to the President announcing policy regarding contacts between campaign committees of Presidential candidates and executive department federal employees in their official capacity. Requests for contact with a Presidential Campaign are required to be approved by DEPSECDEF or by the head of the DoD Transition (when appointed).

The Department of Defense Standards of Conduct Office (SOCO) has a new on-line training program available for your use that will fulfill your 2006 ethics training requirements. Please Note: The annual ethics training is not the same as initial ethics training for new employees. The annual training will not satisfy the initial ethics training for new employees requirement.




Mission and Responsibilities:

Provides timely and accurate legal services to support the mission of DoDEA. The Office specifically provides legal advice and support to DoDEA regarding all aspects of its mission including:

  • Personnel matters
  • Procurement
  • Standards of Conduct
  • School operations
  • Fiscal issues
  • Student enrollment eligibility, student discipline, and special education
  • Represent DoDEA in administrative hearings, contract negotiations, union arbitrations, assist U.S. Attorney's in federal court litigation
