Task Objectives

The U.S. Geological Survey is planning to test sample design, sample collection, and analytical protocols for conducting a soil geochemical survey of North America. Airborne gamma-ray data exists in all the areas being considered for pilot studies to test these protocols. Radioelement maps for each pilot area would help guide sample collection and design.

The objective of this task will be to produce maps and information on radioelelement distribution in selected pilot study areas. The maps and informaion will help test sampling designs and map stability.
