New technology and methodology developed by CDC show that the incidence of HIV in the United States is higher than was previously known. However, the incidence has been stable at that higher level for most of this decade.

New MMWR Released: Trends in HIV/AIDS Diagnoses Among Men Who Have Sex with Men
This report summarizes the results of recent analysis of trends in diagnoses of HIV/AIDS among men who have sex with men (MSM) in the 33 states that have had confidential, name-based HIV case reporting.

These findings underscore the importance of confirming all reactive HIV tests, both from oral fluid and whole-blood specimens.

Indian Health Service HIV/AIDS Program (Indian Health Service, HHS)
The IHS's collaborative HIV/AIDS program works to provide prevention and treatment services to the American Indian/Alaska Native community. IHS has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to continue open communications and collaborate to raise awareness and mutually augment efforts with the Native Capacity Building Assistance Network (CBA). This partnership demonstrates mobilization of both the Native community and IHS for HIV prevention efforts.

National Prevention Information Network (NPIN)
