This resource provides information about the special issues that exist from individuals living with HIV/AIDS and who use drugs and alcohol, how to avoid dangerous interaction of drugs and alcohol with antiretroviral medications, and how to prevent spreading HIV to other individuals.

Newsletter for clinicians on the relationships between HIV infection and mental health. The publication is produced quarterly, and an archive of issues from 2001 forward is available.

Providing Emotional Support (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention)
This resource provides information for caregivers, family members, and friends about how to emotionally support those they care for with AIDS. Helping those with AIDS maintain a healthy mental state is important in helping them maintain their physical health.

Treatment Approaches for Drug Addiction (National Institute on Drug Abuse)
This InfoFacts publication provides basic treatment information for individuals with drug addiction. Drug addiction is documented as a risk-associated behavior and can lead to HIV transmission and antiretroviral drug regimen failure.
