You can search for data files in one of two ways: either by year and/or data file type or by variable category. For information on working with MEPS data files, go to the online workbook and SAS programming examples that have been used in recent workshops conducted by AHRQ.

	NHEA-Aligned MEPS Projected Expenditure Data Files Data from the 2002 MEPS aligned with the 2002 National Health Expenditure Accounts and projected annually through 2016.	file details
	Household Component/Insurance Component Link files Linkage information for the employers of Household Component jobholders who are contacted through the Insurance Component.	file details full list
	Pooled Linkage file Person-level file that contains the combined variance stratum and PSU variables for year 1 and year 2 for use with MEPS full-year consolidated files.	file details full list
	Nursing Home Component files Documentation for the 1996 Nursing Home Component data files.	file details full list

You can find lists of MEPS-HC variables and the data releases on which they are located in two documents: Person-level variables on Variable locator: full-year, point-in-time, longitudinal, and pooled files (PDF, 845 KB) or HTM format
Event-level variables on Variable locator: medical event files(PDF, 80 KB) or HTM format.
