Description of IAE Architecture Diagram Final Version 09/10/07

Going from left to right along the top, a description of the IAE Architecture diagram shows that back office systems, which include Program Tools, Financial Systems, and Acquisition Systems may interface with the Acquisition Central portal (www.acquisition.gov) and the IAE Business Areas of Business Partner Network (BPN), eMarketplace, and Acquisition Information Reporting (AIR).  Vendor systems also may also interface with the Acquisition Central portal and Users may have a direct connection as well.

Going clockwise around the BPN diagram, BPN contains six systems consisting of CCR with grants, ORCA, Performance Data, eSRS, EPLS, and FedReg.  The partner services of the EEO Registry and NABA directory will interface with the BPN in the future.  CCR and ORCA are web services enabled and also allow vendor data entry  Five government partner services feed into CCR:  Treasury Offset program, IRS TIN Matching, VETBIZ, SBA Certs, and AbilityOne.  Two vendor partner services, Austin Tetra and D&B also feed into CCR.  Performance Data is in development and will incorporate data from PPIRS, which receives data from the partner services PPDB, CPARS, and CPS, which are all vendor data entry capable.  eSRS is vendor data entry capable and feeds into FPDS (part of AIR).  EPLS allows for additional Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) integration.  FedReg is the last system in this part of the diagram.

Moving to the IAE Business area of eMarketplace, which is diagramed to the lower left below the BPN diagram, eMarketplace consists of three major parts (going clockwise):  WDOL, FedTeDS/FBO, and Online Purchasing, which is in concept stage.  WDOL is web service enabled, FedTeDS/FBO are vendor data entry capable, as Online Purchasing will be once it is developed.  Four existing partner systems (which are also vendor data capable) will feed into Online Purchasing:  GSA Advantage, DoD EMALL, NASA SEWP, and NIH IntraMall.

To the immediate right of the eMarketplace diagram is the diagram for the IAE Business Area of Acquisition Information Reporting (AIR).  AIR consists of P-Card Info, which is in development, ICD, and FPDS.  P-Card Info receives information from the two credit card associations, VISA and Mastercard, who get their data from the five Governemtn Purchase Card banks:  Bank of America, Mellon Bank, U.S. Bank, Citibank, and Bank One.  FPDS (which as stated previously ties into eSRS) is web service enabled and also has  additional D&B integration.

On the Architecture diagram CCR, ORCA, FedReg, EPLS, eSRS, FPDS, WDOL, and FedTeDS/FBO are all described as "in production."

In the lower left of the drawing is the key to the diagram which describes what the diagram symbols represent.  This shows what items are In Concept, In Development, In Production, Web Service Enabled, Vendor Data Entry Capable, Additional D&B integration, Vendor Service, Partner Service, and  IAE Business Area.
