Course Prerequisites


Prospective students are welcome to apply for FAI training if they will have completed the minimum prerequisites prior to entering the program. If pre-requisites are not met, applications will be disapproved.

A list of FAI-sponsored Training Pre-Requisites are below:

Applicants should ensure their training records include all completed training, certifications, and experience information. Please update your training records by visiting the Acquisition Career Management System (ACMIS).


If you have met the course prerequisites and need to provide additional information or explanation, please provide the following information in the 'Student Comments' section located in the student’s individual application:

  • Name of course
  • Course Provider
  • FAI equivalent course (name, description, course #)
  • Date taken (start and end date)

Course Equivalency

For information on the DAU equivalency program, click here. Students need to indicate in their student profile prior to completing the application if they completed a course that is equivalent to a pre-requisite set by DAU and FAI.


Level II Certification Special Circumstances

If a student began working towards their Level II certification by completing CON 202, CON 204 or CON 210 and wish to complete their Level II certification by completing CON 215, CON 216, CON 217 or CON 218, they should consult the matrix below to assure they have completed the necessary pre-requisites:
