Introduction
On December 19, 2006, formal process began to organize the first informational conference for the Panama Canal expansion, the “2007 Infoconference.” This conference successfully took place March 8 through 10, 2007 in the “La Huaca” Theater, Atlapa Conventions Center, in the City of Panama, Republic of Panama.
This process started with an informal introduction meeting held in November 2006 between Mr. Alberto Alemán Zubieta, Mr. Domingo Latorraca (Vice President, Industrial and Business Chamber) and Mr. José Javier Rivera (President, National Council for the Private Enterprise – CONEP by its acronym in Spanish).
A series of meetings followed with the Industrial and Business Chamber, and a relationship was established to allow said entity to make the most of the experience in this kind of events and, additionally, to be able to present the information within the framework of Expocomer.
