Fish and Wildlife Service Science Support Program

The mission of the Biological Resources Discipline (BRD) of USGS is to work with others to provide the scientific understanding and technologies needed to support the sound management and conservation of our Nation's biological resources. The mission of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) is to conserve, protect, and enhance fish and wildlife and their habitats for the continuing benefit of the American people. Inasmuch as these bureaus have closely related responsibilities, it is in the national interest that their programs are closely coordinated and that the USGS science expertise and capabilities address the resource management challenges faced by the FWS. This project will address tactical and applied information needs, including - but not limited to - fisheries, migratory birds, endangered species, marine mammals, habitat conservation, contaminants, wildlife diseases, international affairs, law enforcement, and refuge management.

This project is managed by the Program Coordinator of the Wildlife: Terrestrial and Endangered Resources Program.
