to your salad. Or, fill-up a sandwich bag with fresh sugar snap
peas and enjoy a crunchy sweet snack.
National Watermelon Day—Cut the watermelon into cubes and place
it in the freezer for 10 minutes. Remove the cubes and enjoy a
cold refreshing treat!
Simplify your life week (1-7)—Take 5 minutes each day this

hands! And, while you're at it try skipping, jumping or dancing
for added physical activity!

do! Find a pool and gather your friends for some watermelon races.

Cataract Awareness Month—Many fruits and vegetable are good sources
of Vitamin C. Dark yellow and orange fruits and vegetable contain
carotene that helps maintain eye health. Try a handout of carrots
instead of pretzels today or add 100% orange juice to your breakfast
menu.
Potato Day—Make a spud your bud today!
National Golf Month—Get into the swing of things! Check out a
miniature gold course, a par-3 or if you're really good an 18-hole
course. Golfing will exercise your shoulder, back, arm and leg
muscles!
Peach Torte Day—Nuts can be a healthy addition to any diet. Try
sprinkling some chopped pecan over a fresh green salad for a healthy
crunch.
National Waffle Day—top your waffles with fresh berries or peaches

National Banana Split Day—Make a low-fat banana split with frozen

More Herbs and less salt day—Herbs can add a lot of flavor without
adding the sodium that salt would. Try sprinkling your grilled
or cooked vegetables with basil, oregano, dill and/or parsley
instead of salt.
