Mineral Resources On-Line Spatial Data

Web Services ...

All of the data sets that are available in the Map Browser user interface are also available as web services. These services can be used to add the data sets to GIS Systems, which can import ArcIMS Image or Feature Services, such as ESRI's ArcGIS or ArcExplorer. ArcExplorer is a free GIS viewer from ESRI, available for download here.

Web Services can be accessed from within the ArcExplorer GIS viewer by selecting the 'Add Layers' tool, selecting 'Add Web Site', and then entering the following URL to make the connection:

http://mrdata.usgs.gov

Users of other, compatible GIS systems should find a similar interface.
