Tracking My Activity

  1. How do I submit my daily physical activity?

  2. When should I submit my daily physical activity?

    • You can submit your daily activities online whenever you like, up until the end of the program on May 9, 2009. Once you submit your daily activities, you can see your progress along your virtual route on your progress map on the My Progress page. Ideally, you should submit your daily activities at least once a week so that you can watch your progress. If you are part of a team, your team will not get any points for a given week until you submit your daily activities for that week.
  3. What if I forget to keep track of my activity?

    • If you forget to keep track of your physical activity for one day, just estimate the amount of activity you completed that day. You can base your estimate on the amount of daily activity that you have been doing for that week.
  4. How do I set my physical activity goals?

    • Each week, you choose a daily goal for that week. You can choose to set your goals in steps or minutes of physical activity. For instance, during week 1 of the WOMAN Activity Tracker, your goal may be to complete 7,500 steps each day of the week. During week 2, your goal may be to be active for 50 minutes each day of the week. From week to week, you can increase or decrease your goal. You can also change your measuring method (steps or minutes).
  5. Can I change my daily goal or measuring method after I have started a week?

    • No. Whichever goal and measuring method you choose at the beginning of a week, you have to stick with for the entire week. But you can change both of them the next week.
  6. How do I decide what my physical activity goals should be?

  7. When should I use the Physical Activity Tracking Log calendar?

    • Ideally, you should record your minutes or steps online in your tracking log at the end of each day. The log is located on the My Activity page of the My WOMAN Activity Tracker. If you cannot get to your computer that day, you can keep track of your activity in a notebook or the Physical Activity Tracking Log calendar. Then, whenever you get a chance, enter your daily activities online.
  8. Can I include activities other than walking in my tracking log?

    • Yes. If you are tracking your activity in steps and are doing activities such as swimming, biking, or gardening, use the Activity Conversion Calculator to convert these activities into pedometer steps. If you are tracking your activity in minutes, just keep track of the minutes you spend on all types of physical activity each day.

My Progress and Scoring

  1. How will I be moved along my virtual route?

    • For each week of the program, you can earn up to two points:
      • Point 1: You earn your first point simply by recording any amount of physical activity on at least 5 days of the week.
      • Point 2: You earn your second point by meeting your activity goal on at least 5 days of the week.
    • As you gain points, you will be moved along the virtual route that you picked. It takes 16 points to complete one route.
  2. Are some routes easier to complete than others?

    • No. Although the routes are different lengths on the map, it takes the same number of points, 16, to complete each route. Each route can be completed during an 8-week period if you earn two points per week.
  3. What happens when I reach the end of my route?

    • When you reach the end of your route, you will automatically restart the same route.
  4. Can I change my route?

    • Yes. By visiting the Edit My Profile page, you can change your route at any time during the program. Changing your route does not affect your score.
  5. What is a Bonus Challenge?

    • A Bonus Challenge is an opportunity for you to earn an extra point by completing an interactive activity. Sometimes the activity will be something you do at home and sometime it will be something you do on the Internet. Bonus Challenges are offered every 5 weeks beginning on August 3, 2008. There are a total of 8 Bonus Challenges offered throughout the WOMAN Activity Tracker and each is worth one point. If all the members of a team complete a Bonus Challenge, the team will get an extra point.
    • View all available Bonus Challenges.

About Teams

  1. I was a member of a WOMAN Challenge team / I was the team leader of a WOMAN Challenge team. How does my team transfer to the WOMAN Activity Tracker?

    • WOMAN Challenge teams are automatically transferred to the WOMAN Activity Tracker when the team leader signs into the program for the first time.
    • If a team member signs into the program before the team leader has activated the team, the team member is turned into an individual participant. If the team leader activates the team at a later time, the former team member can rejoin at anytime.
    • If a team member signs into the program after the team leader has activated the team, the team member is automatically joined to her former team. If you no longer wish to be on a team, follow the instructions for removing yourself from your team.
  2. My friends and I would like to form a team. What do we do?

  3. Can I take part in the WOMAN Activity Tracker both as an individual and as part of a team?

    • Yes, you can do both. The points you earn are your own and move you along the virtual route that you selected. If you are part of a team, your points also help your team move along the route that your team leader has selected.
  4. What does a team leader do?

    • The team leader creates the team, adds members, removes members, and communicates with members by e-mail. The team leader can also change the team name and team route by clicking on Edit My Team's Profile on the My Team page.
  5. I am a team leader but I want to transfer leadership to someone else on the team. How do I do this?

  6. Can I submit a team member's daily physical activity?

    • You can only submit another team member's activity if you have that team member's log-in information. Your teammates will need to give you this information if they want you to submit their activity. Please do not contact us for team members' user names and passwords. We will not give out this information.
  7. How does team scoring work?

    • Team scoring works the same way individual scoring works. But for the team to get the first point for a given week, all team members must record some amount of physical activity on at least 5 days of the week. For the team to get the second point for the week, all team members must meet their activity goals on at least 5 days of the week. Each team member's activity goal for that week can be different.
  8. How to I remove myself from my team?

    1. Log into the My WOMAN Activity Tracker and go to the My Team page.
    2. Click on the button "Remove Me From This Team".
    3. After reading the pop-up message, click “OK.” You are now an individual participant. You will receive a confirmation e-mail.
    4. Removing yourself from a team has no affect on your individual score.
  9. How do I delete my team? (For team leaders)

    1. Log into the My WOMAN Activity Tracker and go to the My Team page.
    2. Click on the button "Delete My Team".
    3. On the Delete My Team page, you have the choice of transferring leadership of your team to another team member or permanently deleting your team.
      • If you transfer leadership of your team to another team member, you will be come a member of your team.
      • If you permanently delete your team, you and all members of your team will become individual participants.
    4. Deleting your team or transferring leadership has no affect on your individual score.
