W3 Award In October 2008, we received a Silver Award from the 2008 Award competition. Sanctioned by the International Academy of Visual Arts, is the first major web competition to be accessible to the biggest agencies, the smallest firms, and everyone in between.
Intute On August 2, 2007, Intute added the Panama Canal web site to their listing. Intute is a free online service providing you with access to the very best Web resources for education and research. The service is created by a network of UK universities and partners. Subject specialists select and evaluate the websites in our database and write high quality descriptions of the resources.

On November 16, 2006 the Panama Canal Authority (ACP) web site - www.pancanal.com - received an honorary award in the "Golden @" Contest of Panama for our efforts and dedication in driving the Internet industry in Panama.
StudySphere On July 4, 2006 our web site was selected as one of the best educational resources on the Web by StudySphere. StudySphere is one of the Internet's fastest growing sites of educational resources for students, teachers and parents.
Premios OX On June 20, 2006, our web site was awarded the International OX Award in the Economy and Work category. The OX Award is presented by the OX Publishing House whose mission is to stimulate the development of Spanish Internet web sites in hispanic countries.

On December 13, 2005, the Panama Canal Authority (ACP) web site - www.pancanal.com -once again received recognition in the "Government" category in the "Golden @" Contest of Panama, which rewards Internet sites with best local content, usability, interactive capabilities, creativity and design.
World Summit Award Our web site was nominated by the eminent expert from Panama (the Technological University of Panama - UTP) to participate in the WSA 2005 contest for best e-contents in the world. The WSA Grand Jury of experts from 35 countries met in Bahrain from September 3-10 to evaluate over 750 products which were nominated from 168 countries. During the evaluation, the WSA Grand Jury selected the five most outstanding products in each of the 8 WSA Categories as winners – the 40 WSA Best Contents Products. Moreover, the Jury has taken a close look at the state of the art in particular geographical regions and most outstanding examples of quality e-Content in each world region were distinguished by a World Summit Award Special Mention.

On October 6th, 2005 WSA informed us that the site was been selected by the Grand Jury as one of the 25 outstanding e-Content examples in the e-Government category in Latin America and the Caribbean!
AAWA On March 16, 2005, our website received the The American Association of Webmasters, "Gold" Award. The American Association of Webmasters Awards are primarily designed to supply formal recognition to webmasters and designers who have shown outstanding achievement in web design, content and creativity.

On December 6, 2004, the Panama Canal Authority (ACP) web site - www.pancanal.com - received recognition in the "Government and Associations" category in the "Golden @" Contest, sponsored this year by Microsoft Panama, Cable and Wireless, Banco Uno, Taca.com and Innovacion.
On August 20th, 2004 our webcams were added to the "eWebCamera" directory listing. This listing is one of the fastest growing directory of live free webcams. More than 900 webcams online from 5 continents and more than 100 countries from all around the world!
EarthCam, the world's leading network of Internet cameras and recognized authority on the webcam industry, released its fifth annual list of the top 25 most interesting webcams on December 29, 2003. Our webcams appear as part of the top 25 list..

The Panama Canal Authority (ACP) web site -www.pancanal.com- received a special recognition as the "Most Voted for website of Central America " in the "2003 Golden @" Contest of El Salvador, sponsored by Microsoft and El Diario de Hoy de El Salvador, honoring outstanding salvadoran and central american internet sites. The award was received in El Salvador by the Ambassador of Panama in El Salvador, Roderick Guerra, on August 21st, 2003.

On May 30th 2003, the Panama Canal Authority (ACP) web site -www.pancanal.com- received recognition in the "Government and Associations" category and Best Projection in Panama category, and was distinguished with the highest award, "2003 Golden @," in the "Golden @" Contest, sponsored by Microsoft and La Prensa, honoring the most outstanding local internet sites.
The Internet Scout Project has selected our siteThe Panama Canal --for inclusion in the National Science Digital Library Report for Math, Engineering, and Technology (August 16, 2002). The report is a biweekly current awareness publication that highlights new and newly discovered Internet resources in these areas. This project takes care to cover only the most useful resources, considering the depth of content, the authority of the source, and how well the information is maintained and presented.
On December 4, 2001, our Live Camera was included in the www.123cam.com directory. It is a search engine directory about web cams and live video from all the world.
A local newspaper, La Prensa, rated our web site and indicated that it was one of the complete web sites in our country. (Spanish Only)
  The Panama Canal web site was featured as "Web Site of the Day" in the July 25, 2001 edition of the Transportation Communications Newsletter. The newsletter covers all subjects related to communications in the transportation field and is currently subscribed to by over 3,300 transportation professionals around the world.
Our webcam has been included on the "CamCities" webcam directory as of March 13, 2001.
As of March 8, 2001 our live webcam has been added to the Agocam webcam directory.
WebCam World On February 27, 2001, our live camera was been listed as the featured webcam on "WebCam World" home page.

TravelShop On July 19, 2000, our web site was selected to form part indefinitely of the "TravelShop" virtual market.
EarthCam's Top Ten Our "Live Camera " located at the Miraflores Locks was selected as part of EarthCam's Top Ten for March 23, 2000.
Web Cast of the Century Our "Live Camera" was selected to be presented during the EarthCam New Year event "WebCam of the Century". This event presented 100 web cameras from the around the world. During 1999, EarthCam reviewed its database of webcams and selected only 100 of the best webcams for re-transmission during this event. We were honored to be part of the EarthCam New Year Event in 2001 and once again for this New Year's event.
Our live camera was placed online on the December 13, 1999 by "Here Is Your Live Cam". This site is a collection of web cams implemented around the world. The web cam themes vary from scenery to cities, technology, sports and many others. Once again, on February 11, 2001 a reference to our web cam was made on this site.
AltaVista Cammunity Our "Live Camera" was selected by Alta Vista Cammunity as the "Cam of the Day" from OCtober 7th through the 31st, 1999.
Selección de los Editores On October 12, 1999, the editors of the 4anything.com web site, selected our web site as one of the best within our category.
Since October 2nd, 1999 our "Live Camera" which transmits images of the ongoing operations at the Miraflores Locks has been re-transmitted on the "See the World thru Live Cameras" web site. We obtained this award for excellence and quality of our site.
Premio DCN Our "Live Camera" located at the Miraflores Locks was presented as the "WebCam of the Day" on August 20, 1999 by Digital Camera Network .
Premio de CamCity CamCity Webcams presented our "Live Camera" as the "WebCam of the Day" on two ocassions, July 11th and August 5th, 1999.
Premio de StudyWeb Our Photo Gallery section was selected as a "preferred site" on June 4, 1999 by StudyWeb as one of the best educational resources on the Internet.
