Public Meeting for First Session of Codex Ad Hoc Intergovernmental Task Force on Processing and Handling of Quick Frozen Foods

WASHINGTON, Jan. 16, 2008 - The Office of the Under Secretary for Food Safety, U.S. Department
of Agriculture (USDA), and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), of the U.S. Department of Health and Human
Services, today announced a public meeting to provide information and receive public comments on agenda
items and draft U.S. positions to be discussed at the First Session of the Codex Ad Hoc Intergovernmental
Task Force on the Processing and Handling of Quick Frozen Foods (TFQFF), to be held in Bangkok, Thailand,
Feb. 25-29, 2008.
The public meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2008, from 1-3 p.m. in Room 1B-042, FDA, Harvey
Wiley Federal Building, 5100 Paint Branch Parkway, College Park, MD 20740. Pre-registration for the public
meeting is not required, however, attendees must present photo identification to gain admittance to the building.

Codex was established in 1963 by two United Nations organizations, the Food and Agriculture organization and the
World Health Organization. Codex develops food standards, guidelines and codes of practice in order to protect
the health of consumers, ensure fair food trade practices and promote coordination of food standards undertaken
by international governmental and non-governmental organizations.
