BLM announces Public Comment Period for Environmental Assessment Three Clay Basin Unit (CBU) Gas WellsContact: Mark Wimmer (435) 781-4464 Vernal, Utah—October 23, 2008—The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Vernal Field Office announces the public comment period (October 27, 2008 through November 10, 2008) for the Proposed Three Clay Basin Unit (CBU) Gas Wells Environmental Assessment (EA). The EA describes the potential impacts of Wexpro’s proposal to develop three wells in the Clay Basin Unit. The project would total approximately 10.73 acres of surface disturbance on Clay Basin. The purpose of this EA is to inform the public and decision makers of impacts associated with implementing the proposal and to solicit the public for additional information or corrections. After the 15-day public comment period, the EA will be finalized and a decision will be documented in a decision record. A compact disk or hard copy of the document can be obtained from the Vernal Field Office. The document is also on-line at http://www.blm.gov/ut/st/en/fo/vernal/planning/nepa_.html If you wish to submit comments on this EA, we request that you make comments as specific as possible, with references to page numbers and chapters. Comments that only contain opinions or preferences will not receive a formal response, but will be considered as part of BLM’s decision-making process.
