Earth Observing 1 (EO-1)

Data Acquisition Request (DAR) Information

A DAR allows a customer to provide the information necessary to schedule an acquisition over their area of interest. A new DAR is required for each area or data range. Please realize that scheduling conflicts and satellite maintenance may effect instrument availability.

The service fee for tasking the sensor is $750. This fee also covers the scheduling, tracking, and quality assessment of a DAR. Once EROS has received allocated funding for a DAR (payment details), the request is added to the schedule. The amount of time between receipt of allocated funds and image acquisition depends on the customer's requested acquisition date range, satellite scheduling conflicts, and satellite maintenance. If EROS is unable to image a specific location, the customer will be notified.

ALI and/or Hyperion $750 $750

After EO-1 has imaged the DAR location and the data are received, EROS will perform a cloud cover assessment over the entire image. If the image contains less than 20% cloud cover, the DAR will be considered fulfilled and you will billed the $750 service fee. A browse image is sent to you by e-mail for your review and approval; upon your approval, the data product will be generated and shipped. If the image contains more than 20% cloud cover, EROS will reschedule the target scene up to two additional times at no extra cost.

Typical timelines--from down-link to distribution--are approximately one to four weeks.

EO-1 will be performing a 2 week long experiment starting 27 October and ending 9 November 2008 to characterize the dark current drift on the ALI instrument for use by the Landsat Data Continuity Mission development team. During the first week of testing, EO-1 will image one scene per day. During the second week, EO-1 will image one scene every other day. No Sensor Web, Campaign
