Kingston ACTIVITY REPORT OFFICE OF TRUST RECORDS November 1-30, 2007 PROGRAMMATIC: Labat-Anderson (Labat Indexing Project) Labat reported that indexing of 1,030 boxes of inactive Indian records was completed in November 2007. The total number of boxes completed through November 2007 is approximately 164,715. Movement of Records The Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) and Office of the Special Trustee (OST) moved 1,031 boxes of inactive records from various field locations to Lenexa, Kansas, for indexing mad subsequent storage at the American Indian Records Repository (AIRR) during tiffs reporting period. S~e As~ssme~sStateme~ During the month of November, OTRA performed one records assessment at the following location: NBC, Office of Appraisal Services, Great Plains Region. OTRA issued four records assessment reports, oae for each of the following locations: Rapid City OST IIM office, Great Plains Region BIA office, Great. Plains Region OST IIM office, and Standing Rock Agency BIA office. Records Training In November 2007, OTR provided records management training for 90 BIA!OST records contacts and Tribal employees. OTR provided trahaing on vital records for 13 BIA, OST and Tribal employees. Equipment 69 pieces of fireproof filing equipmem were delivered to BIA/OST and Tribal offices in November 2007. Litigation Support and Research Requests OTR continued to provide significant suppo~ to the Office of the Solicitor, Office of Historical Trust Accounting and its contractors, the Department of Justice and its contractors and tribal attorneys on behalf of various Tribes. AIRR staff provided responses to 193 research requests fi’om BIA, OST and offerer requesters.
