Kingston ACTIVITY REPORT OFFICE OF TRUST ~CORDS April 1 - 30, 2007 PROGRAMMATIC: Labat-Anderson (Labat Indexing Project) Labat reported that indexing of !, 112 boxes of inactive Indian records was completed in April 2007. The total number of boxes completed through April 2007 is approximately 155,532. Movement of Records The Bureau of Indian Affairs 03IA) and Office of the Special Trustee (OST) moved 2,158 boxes of inactive records from various field Ioeations to Lenexa, Kansas, for indexing and subsequent storage at the American Indian Records Repository (AIRR) during this reporting period. Site Assessments Statement During the month of April, OTRA issued a final records assessment report for San Carlos Agency BIA. OTKA performed record assessments at the Shiprock and Chinle Agencies BIA offices, OST Budget, Finance and Administration (DC), OST Immediate office (DC), OST External Affairs Office (DC), the NBC Deputy Chief Appraisers Office (DC) and the Northwest Region Appraisal Office. Records Training OTR provided records management training for 188 BIA, OST and Tribal records contacts. OTR provided training on vital records for 256 BIA, OST and Tribal employees. ~ Equipment 29 pieces of fireproof ~ing equipment were delivered to BIA, OST and Tribal offices in April 2007. Litigation Support and Research Requests OTR continued to provide sigrdficanl support to the Office of the Soliei.tor, Office of Historical Trust Accounting and its contractors, and the Department of Justice and its contractors. AIRR sl~f provided responses to 255 research requests from BIA, OST and other requesters. ADMINISTRATIVE: General administrative activities continued. GENERAL OBSERVATIONS: None.
