Kingston ACTIVITY REPORT OIFFICE OF TRUSTRECORDS January 1 -31,2007 PROGRAMMATIC: * Labat-Anderson(Labat Indexing Project) Labat reported that indexing of 1,052 boxes of inactive Indian records was completed in January 2007. The total number of boxes completed through January 2007 is approximately 152,725. Movement of Records The Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) and Office of the Special Trustee(OST) moved 831 boxes of inactive records from various field locations to Lenexa, Kansas, for indexing and subsequent storage at the American Indian Records Repository (AIRR) during this reporting period. Site Assessments Statement The Office of Trust Review and Audit(OTRA) did not issue any final records assessment reports during the month of January 2007, OTIU pdormed records assessments at Western Nevada Agency BIA offices and Colorado River Agency BLA and OST IIM offices. Records Training OTR provided records management training for 60 BIA records contacts. Equipment 128 pieces of fireproof filing equipment were delivered to BL4, OST and Tribal offices in January 2007. Litigation Support and Research Requests OTR continued to provide significant suppprt to the Office of the Solicitor, Office of Historical Trust Accounting and its contractors,and the Department of Justice and its contractors. AIRR staff provided responses to 205 research requests from BIA, QST and other requesters. ADMINISTRATIVE: General administrative activities continued. GENEAL 0BSERVATIONS: None.
