Child Sexual Assault Suspect Arrested |
|
Del
Rio, TX – The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force arrested 21 year old Adrian
Jesus Guia Jr. of Kerrville, Texas after his expulsion from the Republic of
Mexico. Guia is charged by indictment in Kerrville, Texas for Sexual Assault
of a Child.
Guia fled the Kerrville area before he was arrested and became a fugitive
living in Coahuila, Mexico to avoid prosecution in this case. After learning
that Guia may have fled to Mexico, the Kerrville Police Department requested
assistance from the United States Marshals Service. Deputy United States
Marshals developed information on Guia’s location through investigation and
interviews. This locate information was provided to the Procuradaria General
de Justicia del Estado and the Immigracion Nacional de Mexico. Mexican law
enforcement located Guia with the information provided, determined the
subject was in the Republic of Mexico in violation of Mexican immigration
laws and was subsequently expelled to the U.S. at Del Rio, Texas.
Upon Guia’s expulsion from Mexico at the Del Rio Port of entry, he was
arrested by Deputy United States Marshals and placed in the Val Verde County
Jail where he is awaiting extradition back to Kerr County, Texas to face his
charges.
The United States Marshal for the Western District of Texas LaFayette
Collins said, “Fugitives continue to run to Mexico and our friends in Mexico
continue to return the fugitives to us. Through the great work of the
Mexican authorities and the Deputy Marshals assigned to the Mexican
International Liaison program, we continue to develop and further this
working relationship with our Mexican counterparts. This case highlights
that great relationship.”
