Porter was arrested by investigators from the Middle Louisiana Fugitive Task Force. During a fugitive investigation, Porter was seen in the area known to be frequented by the fugitive. Porter, who matched the physical description of the fugitive, immediately became evasive when contacted by MLFTF investigators. After the initial contact, Porter fled on foot for several blocks. MLFTF investigators caught Porter and, after a brief struggle, took him into custody. A search incident to arrest revealed 47 grams of Cocaine and a digital scale. Porter was arrested and booked for possession with intent to distribute and the cocaine was seized as evidence pending prosecution. Porter has a long criminal history that includes five previous arrests for drug offenses.
