The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force Announces the Arrest of Murder Suspect Carnel Davis

Waco –  The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force (LSFTF) announces the arrest of Carnel Davis in Birmingham Alabama by the Gulf Coast Regional Task Force. Davis was wanted by the Killeen Police Department as a suspect in a murder that occurred on September 22nd of 2006 in Killeen Texas. After exhausting all leads in the local area, the Killeen Police Department contacted the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force in Waco Texas for assistance. Information was developed by the LSFTF that Davis was using his brother’s identification, and was believed to be hiding in the Birmingham area. An investigative lead was forwarded to the Gulf Coast Regional Task Force who successfully located and arrested Davis without incident on February 26th 2008 at a girlfriend’s residence in Birmingham. Davis is also wanted for questioning in an additional homicide that occurred in Birmingham Alabama.

United States Marshal for the Western District of Texas LaFayette Collins said, “The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force is dedicated to assuring that fugitives face justice for their crimes. The arrest of Davis illustrates that when law enforcement agencies work together no fugitive can find a place to hide.”

Participating Agencies include the Killeen Police Department, Gulf Coast Regional Task Force, Lone Star Fugitive Task Force, and the United States Marshals Service.

The United States Marshal for the Western District of Texas LaFayette Collins said, “Fugitives have only two choices when being pursued by the United States Marshals Service; either peacefully surrender to law enforcement authorities or face a life of constant fear, knowing no matter where you hide or how far you run, in the end, you face justice.”
