Energy Information Administration

This program provides high quality, unbiased energy information for the Government, industry, and the public to promote sound policymaking, efficient markets, and public understanding. It collects, analyzes, forecasts, and disseminates energy information.

Rating

What This Rating Means

NOT PERFORMING
Results Not Demonstrated

A rating of Results Not Demonstrated (RND) indicates that a program has not been able to develop acceptable performance goals or collect data to determine whether it is performing.
  • The program needs to establish annual performance measures and baseline values and targets.
  • Although the program seeks advice from experts and has an Independent Expert Review process in place, they do not evaluate the effectiveness or relevance of the entire program. Instead, they provide advice on specific issues the Energy Information Administration raises.

Improvement Plan

About Improvement Plans

We are taking the following actions to improve the performance of the program:

  • Continuing to make program changes as appropriate, based on recommendations from an External Expert Review of the overall program that was initiated in FY 2005 and completed in 2006.
  • Monitoring annual performance to demonstrate program performance using the targets and baselines that have been established for all performance measures.
