The following is a letter to the editor published recently in The Mississippi Press:
"No Child Left Behind is making good on the promise of Brown vs. Board of Education. We're already seeing positive results. The achievement gap is narrowing in both reading and math, and test scores are rising.
"We all can see the strong and solid results about No Child Left Behind Act and its positive results. We, as a nation, are headed in the right direction so that our children will meet America's higher standards. We need our children better educated so that they can guide and lead our powerful nation and keep American competitive in the world economic arena.
"Let's stay focused on education for our children because they are our future, our hope and our dream for a better country and world."
