Deputy Secretary of State John D. Negroponte To Address National Endowment for Democracy

Deputy Secretary of State John D. Negroponte will address the National Endowment for Democracy, on Monday, May 5, at 1:00 p.m. The conference, entitled, “Pakistan: Advancing Democracy and Security,” will be held in Suite 800, 1025 F Street, NW, Washington, DC. Deputy Secretary Negroponte will take questions from the conference participants following his remarks.

The National Endowment for Democracy (NED) is a private, nonprofit organization seeking to promote democracy abroad. Governed by an independent, nonpartisan board of directors, NED makes hundreds of grants each year to support pro-democracy groups around the world.

This event is POOL press coverage for cameras and OPEN press coverage for writers and still photographers.

Press set up time: 12:30 p.m. – 12:50 p.m.
NOTE: All press must be in place before 12:55 p.m.

To attend this event, members of the media must present one of the following: (1) a U.S. Government-issued identification card (Department of State, White House, Congress, Department of Defense or Foreign Press Center), (2) a media-issued photo identification card, or (3) a letter from their employer on letterhead verifying their employment as a journalist, accompanied by an official photo identification (driver's license or passport).
