Title: | Electrical |
Abstract: | Electrical standards for safety-related work practices for general industry. Includes requirements for work performed on or near exposed energized and deenergized parts of electrical equipment; use of electrical protective equipment; and the safe use of electric equipment. Amendments are proposed to the general industry standards which would: change existing regulations referring to the 1971 National Electrical Code so that they would refer instead to OSHA's electrical standards; remove existing electrical work-practice requirements from other parts of the general industry standards so that all general electrical safety- related work practices would be covered in the electrical safety standards; and remove an existing provision relating to construction from the general industry electrical safety standards. The general industry standards amended are: 1910.26(c)(3)(viii) [removed]; 1910. 67(b)(4); 1910.68(b)(4) and 1910.68(c)(5)(iv)(c); 1910.94; 1910.103(b) (3)(iii)(e);1910.106(h)(7)(iii)(a); 1910.110 Table H-28; 1910.178(c)(2) ;1910.179(g)(1)(i); 1910.180(j); 1910.181(j)(5);1910.252(a)(6)(iv)(d) (2); 1910.261(g)(1)(iv) and 1910.261(k)(16);1910.265(c)(12) [removed]; 1910.304(b)(1) [removed]; 1910.331 through 1910.335 would be added to Subpart S. Written comments and requests for a hearing must be postmarked by February 29, 1988. |
