Washington – A free, two-hour webcast to
help employers and pension professionals understand recent regulatory
and related guidance under the Pension Protection Act of 2006 will be
hosted by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Employee Benefits Security
Administration (EBSA) on December 6.
The act made significant changes affecting the
operation of 401(k) and other retirement plans governed by the Employee
Retirement Income Security Act. This first in a series of webcasts will
address the new statutory exemptions on investment advice, service
providers and corrected transactions, pension benefit statements and
regulations on default investments. The series is being offered as part
of EBSA’s compliance assistance program – Getting It Right - Know
Your Fiduciary Responsibilities – to help practitioners understand
their fiduciary responsibilities when operating retirement plans.
This event is open to news media.
