Seattle, Washington - The U.S. Department of
Labor’s Employee Benefits Security Administration (EBSA) compliance
assistance seminar, “Getting It Right – Know Your Fiduciary
Responsibilities,” will take place in Seattle, Washington on November 9,
2004 at the Bell Harbor International Conference Center, 2211 Alaskan Way,
Pier 66. |
The
free seminar is part of the national fiduciary education campaign to
increase awareness and understanding about basic fiduciary
responsibilities associated with operating private-sector retirement
plans. The Washington seminar is sponsored by the Labor Department in
partnership with the Society for Human Resource Management, National
Federation of Independent Business, U.S. Chamber of Commerce, American
Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the U.S. Small Business
Administration. |

is on a first come, first served basis, with only limited spaces
available. Interested parties should register by November 1, 2004 via

The
department’s program – ‘Getting It Right – Know Your Fiduciary
Responsibilities’ – will provide employers and plan officials with an
understanding of the law and their responsibilities and will focus on
steps for avoiding the most common problems encountered under EBSA’s
enforcement activities. The campaign also includes educational materials
on topics such as understanding fees and selecting an auditor. These
