Kathmandu, Nepal
February 11, 2005

Young leaders from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka came to Kathmandu February 10-14, 2005, to discuss the role of young people in a democratic society. With workshops on principled leadership, community service, conflict resolution, and hands-on presentation/media skills, the conference program emphasized how young people can energize democracy and give back to their societies. More than 40 student leaders from South Asia also were able to forge regional bonds of friendship and cooperation.
