Secretary Rice Meets With Japanese Foreign Minister Nobutaka Machimura

Secretary Rice held a bilateral meeting with Japan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Nobutaka Machimura to discuss matters of mutual interest. Following the bilateral meeting, Secretary Rice and Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld hosted Foreign Minister Machimura and Director-General of the Japan Defense Agency and Minister of State for Defense Yoshinori Ohno in a meeting of the U.S.-Japan Security Consultative Committee (SCC).
