Scaffolds ยป Wood Trestle and Extension Trestle Ladders

Wood trestle ladders are self-supporting portable ladders consisting of two sections hinged to a frame. The size is designated by the length of the side rails measured along the front edge.

An extension trestle ladder is a wood trestle ladder with a straight ladder that extends from the top.

Note: Newer methods of ship construction have greatly reduced the use of these scaffolds. However, these scaffolds are primarily used during the construction and repair of boats.

Before reviewing this section, refer to the General Scaffolding Requirements.
