Events Commemorating the 10th Anniversary of the Dayton AccordsSecretary of State Condoleezza Rice has invited the leadership of Bosnia and Herzegovina, members of the international community, and U.S. officials to the Department of State on November 22, 2005 to commemorate the 10th Anniversary of agreement on the Dayton Accords, which ended the horrific war in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Press coverage of the day’s events is as follows:
11:30 a.m. Secretary Rice and Ivo Miro Jovic, Chairman of the Bosnian Tri-Presidency, will participate in a wreath-laying ceremony to honor Ambassador Robert Frasure, Nelson Drew, and Joseph Kruzel, American diplomats killed in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1995. (POOL PRESS COVERAGE)
12:15 p.m. Secretary Rice will participate in a signing ceremony with Bosnian Foreign Minister Mladen Ivanic where they will sign a Status of Forces Agreement and an Open Skies Agreement. (OPEN PRESS COVERAGE) Pick up time for all press: 11:30 a.m. from the 23rd Street Entrance
12:30 p.m. Secretary Rice will host a lunch in honor of the Dayton Accord Anniversary in the Ben Franklin Room, and offer brief remarks. (POOL PRESS COVERAGE)
Media representatives may attend these events upon presentation of one of the following: (1) a U.S. Government-issued identification card (Department of State, White House, Congress, Department of Defense, or Foreign Press Center), (2) a media-issued photo identification card, or (3) a letter from their employer on letterhead verifying their employment as a journalist, accompanied by an official photo identification (driver’s license or passport).
