The Atlas Automation Modernization Program Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) with the necessary technology to communicate and share information within the agency and with its law enforcement and immigration partners.

  • Atlas addressed all legislative, oversight, and management deficiencies by implementing continuous process improvements to measure and achieve efficiencies and cost effectiveness in program execution.
  • The Atlas Program ensured effectiveness and efficiency, improving management structure by hiring a certified Program Manager, assigning Government Project Managers for each Atlas project, and appointing an Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) contractor to provide impartial oversight.
  • Atlas Program resources are now targeted to effectively address the program's purpose and reach intended beneficiaries and their needs. Outcome are now aligned directly with Atlas goals which include requirements to upgrade hardware and software and the ability to organize and share information that can be used by all ICE agents and law enforcement partners.

About Improvement Plans

We are taking the following actions to improve the performance of the program:

  • Improving implementation of the existing System Lifecycle Management (SLM) methodology.
  • Developing a program level Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) from sub-project schedules to identify interdependencies and improve management of program risks.
  • Establishing the procedure for oversight and implementation of the Lessons Learned process for the Atlas Program.
