Denver-area employers invited to participate in free U.S. Department of Labor forumWorkshop topics include overtime laws, pensions and job safetyDENVER -- The third annual Denver Employers Forum on Tuesday, April 24, will offer information about overtime regulations, job safety and health, pension protection, affirmative action programs, veterans’ re-employment rights, employer reporting requirements when dealing with union officers, and family and medical leave. This free event will be held at the Colorado Convention Center, 700 14th St., Rooms 201, 202 and 203, Denver, Colo., from 7:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. MDT. From 8:30 to 9:00 a.m., regional administrators from the U.S. Department of Labor’s various agencies will present overviews of the laws and programs they oversee, to be followed by multiple concurrent workshop sessions beginning at 9:15 and 11:00 a.m. Represented Labor Department agencies and offices will include the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs, the Wage and Hour Division, the Women’s Bureau, the Office of Labor Management Standards, the Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training, Veterans Employment and Training Services, the Employee Benefit and Security Administration, the Regional Solicitor’s Office and the Mine Safety and Health Administration.
