This Vision Document provides an overview of the CCSP Strategic Plan. The plan describes a strategy for developing knowledge of variability and change in climate and related environmental and human systems, and for encouraging the application of this knowledge. The strategy seeks to optimize the benefits of research that is conducted, sponsored, or applied by 13 agencies and departments of the U.S. Government. The strategy describes in greater detail the goals of the CCSP and its component programs, the products that are expected to result, and the approaches and criteria that will be adopted to implement the program. The table of contents of the Plan is reproduced as Appendix A.
