  4. George Schoener Retires
    When the Recreational Trails Program first began, it was housed in FHWA's Intermodal and Statewide Programs Division. Our Division Chief was George Schoener. George moved on in 2002 to be the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Transportation Policy with the USDOT. George is retiring April 2006.
