February 28, 2008

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

TERRENCE L. WOLFE, age 35, a resident of Reserve, Louisiana was charged in a single-count indictment by a Federal Grand Jury for the illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, announced U. S. Attorney Jim Letten.

According to court documents, on June 27, 2007, WOLFE was prohibited from possessing a firearm by virtue of a February 10, 1999 felony conviction he sustained for the distribution of cocaine out of St. John the Baptist Criminal District Court. If convicted, WOLFE faces ten (10) years imprisonment, a fine of $250,000.00 and three (3) years of supervised release following any term of imprisonment.

U. S. Attorney Letten reiterated that the indictment is merely a charge and that the guilt of the defendant must be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.

The case was investigated by the St. John the Baptist Sheriff’s Office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U. S. Attorney Abram McGull, II.
