WOMAN SENTENCED TO 30 MONTHS FOR FALSELY OBTAINING PASSPORTS AND MISUSE OF A SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER Nora R. Dannehy, Acting United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, announced that ANN JEANETTE RIVERA, 37, last residing on Barker Street in Hartford, was sentenced today by United States District Christopher F. Droney in Hartford to 30 months of imprisonment, followed by three years of supervised release. On May 17, 2007, RIVERA pleaded guilty to one count of causing false information on a passport application, and one count of making a false statement regarding a social security number. According to documents filed with the Court and statements made in court, RIVERA was involved in a scheme to obtain false passports, and used multiple false identity documents while on escape status from a State larceny conviction. This case was investigated by the United States Secret Service, the United States Social Security Administration, and the Connecticut State Police. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney David A. Ring. | |
